INTERNATIONAL 5.5 METRE CLASS “BALLERINA”

INTERNATIONAL 5.5 METRE CLASS “BALLERINA”

A beautiful classic wooden 5.5m keelboat in excellent condition, now available for sale.

This type of boat boasts extraordinary sailing performance and was built in 1962 in Switzerland. Constructed with a cedar and mahogany hull on acacia frames, it underwent a full refit in 2012. The boat is equipped with new tri-radial sails. A multiple prize winner in the Olympic Games and numerous classic regattas, it offers both speed and safety for competitive racing or day sailing.

Designed by the well-known Swiss designer Henry Copponex.

The yacht is easy to handle single-handedly, with a self-tacking furling jib, no backstays, and all sail controls led to the cockpit. It features an electric-start Yamaha inboard engine (8 HP, 23 kg) with a sail drive and folding propeller. The deck was replaced in 2019 and is covered with flexiteak.

An incredibly well-equipped and innovative boat, with many thoughtful details.
