Folk boat Junior Day sailor
This small wooden classic yacht was designed in 1926 for the Royal Danish Yacht Club for training. The club asked the Swedish designer Eric Salander to design an affordable day sailor. The result was the KDY junior 15 square meter. The class became popular in Denmark, Sweden, Germany as well in Holland.
These small ships have remarkable capabilities, several have sailed from Copenhagen to Norway and across to England. This example is in showroom condition, as new, although it was built in 2006 by a craftsman using modern techniques. Lapstrake in epoxy counts for very little maintenance in the coming years. All pine and mahogany wood finished with clear varnish system. Deck from 8 cm foam with plywood so the boat is unsinkable also very safe. Mast and sails, deck gear, over all cover all like new. Little used, from the first owner.
These junior folk boats are economic, light weight, easily trailed and launched, and suitable for youngsters and adults to sail. Visit this boat and you’ll be surprised!
