This compact wooden classic yacht was designed in 1963. The designers, Dutch brothers Potma, set out to design a affordable day sailor named “Westeinder”, built on their own shipyard. She looks similar like the 12.5m Herreshof. They decided to build two boats together made from a single mahogany tree trunk. This class is economic, lightweight, easily trailed and launched and suitable for younger folks and adults to sail. Because of her 50% ballast keel it is a very stable and safe boat – also in stronger winds. This round bilged and lapstrake open boat is still in good condition. In 1985, a new teak deck was installed and later 6 new frames and new mast foot were added. The 4 HP outboard engine is a Mercury four stroke from 2018 in mint condition. Included are two sets of sails with one older spinnaker. Overall, this is a beautiful classic boat with an elegant appearance at an attractive price point.
